Hello, ma'am. Most welcome to our channel. I am really thankful that you gave us your precious time and came here for our viewers to share some guidance on past lives and karma, which is one of my favorite subjects. I truly believe in karma.
Viewers, this is Meri Ilich. She has lived in many countries and has been working with karma, past lives, and message channeling with angels for more than 25 years. Personally, I also trust her for guidance in my own life. When you talk with her, she feels very motherly, almost angelic. So, ma'am, over to you. Please give us a little introduction about yourself.
First, thank you very much for inviting me. I have always liked my connection with India. I have beautiful memories from India, and I lived in Jaipur for two years. I always say that I earned my doctorate in karma in India, because I met karma through your people and also through your spirits. My first real contacts with other dimensions happened there.
I am originally from Serbia, which used to be part of the former Yugoslavia. I lived in Barcelona for 21 years. After that I traveled around the world three times, then spent two years in India and three years in Bali, Indonesia. What comes next, only God knows. People often ask whether this is my final destination, and I always say only God knows my last destination.
Correct. We do not know what we will do in the next moment, so how can we say what will happen next year? It is good to plan, good to wish, and good to dream, but the final word is always God's.
My first question is this: how did you begin all of this? In India these topics are common, but I think in Europe and many other countries people are not as open to karma and past lives.
Your understanding is right. In Western countries, especially in Europe, this is not very common. In America people are a little more interested, but in Europe it is still unusual.
As a very small child, I could feel the presence of other beings. Even without knowing what that meant, I often felt another kind of energy around me and my family. Later, when I moved to Barcelona, I discovered alternative psychology and started taking courses with psychologists from many modern schools that focused on emotional problems.
Then I discovered Brian Weiss and his work on past lives. I read all of his books, followed his teachings, and eventually attended a training with him in Italy. There were around 600 people there from all over the world. I remember thinking, "My God, it is not only me." Until then, I had felt lonely, as though nobody else was interested in this subject.
Brian Weiss works with past-life regression through hypnosis. During the six-day course, however, I realized I was not using hypnosis at all. At first I thought maybe it was because I am naturally rebellious and resistant to authority.
Later, when I went to Nepal, I met people connected with a Brahmin lineage, and they told me they had been waiting for me. I was surprised because, without asking me anything, they already knew where I was born and where I had lived. They told me I was late, and that I had spent too many years in Barcelona. They said that even though we have destiny and karma, we also have free will, so we can change our path at any time.
Without realizing it, I had changed my karma by staying in Barcelona much longer than planned. When I told them I had been learning from Brian Weiss, they said, "No, we sent Brian Weiss to you as a trigger so you would start remembering knowledge from your past lives."
They told me that, in another life, I had already been a guru in Kashmir more than 100 years before Christ, and that I had healed people through past-life regression. That is why I do not use hypnosis now. I simply do not need it.
That means your spiritual journey actually began many births ago. In our Shastras it is written that this is not your first birth when you begin such work. It feels as if you came back in this life to finish something left incomplete. Is that correct according to your understanding?
Yes. All knowledge already exists inside the soul. From one life to another we carry it with us, but we forget it. Then the soul, other souls, and God all try to find ways to trigger that hidden knowledge again.
That is why I was led to Brian Weiss and his work. Step by step, I returned to the path I had known before. In Europe we say, "All roads lead to Rome." It means there are many roads to one truth. What is good for you may not be good for me, and every person must find the road that suits them.
Exactly. Everyone has their own journey.
Yes, and the point is not whether a path is good or bad. The question is whether it is useful. Some people learn by reading, some by listening, and some through lived experience. I was told that I would learn through my clients, and I see that every time. The more complex the case I help solve, the more I learn.
When you say you do not use hypnosis to take someone into a past life, that is very interesting. Sometimes I also feel that through meditation I can take someone into a past life, though I do not fully understand how. Maybe we can speak about that another time.
My next question is for the viewers. Your understanding of karma is amazing. Can you explain what karma really is?
Usually people think karma is punishment. Sometimes they tell me, "I do not want to do bad things because God or karma will punish me." But I say that we should not avoid bad actions out of fear. We should avoid them because we are divine beings.
God is inside us, and God is always good. Evil cannot exist where God is present. If you keep remembering that you are part of God and God is part of you, you will not naturally move toward evil.
Even if someone does something bad to you, you should understand that it may simply be a dark moment in that person's life. Revenge, or giving badness back in return, is not your true nature. That is not divine nature.
Correct. Whatever we do comes back to us.
Exactly. If you plant an apple seed, you get an apple. If you plant a sunflower seed, you get a sunflower. If you hurt others, hurt will eventually return to you. If you do good, good also returns. That is karma.
But karma does not necessarily return through the same person. If I do something good for you, it does not mean you must return the favor to me. A completely unknown person may later do something good for me. Karma moves through life itself.
Think of life as a field or a road. Everywhere you go, you plant seeds. At a later crossroads, perhaps in another place and through other people, those seeds return to you as fruit. That is why I always say: do good without watching too closely to whom you are doing it. Sometimes good is just a smile, or simply listening to someone who needs to be heard.
Karma is like a boomerang. If you send out goodness, goodness comes back. If you send out cruelty, cruelty comes back.
So it is basically that what you give is what you receive. Sometimes people say, "I have done everything right in this life. Why am I still getting pain?" Maybe the reason is from a past life, even if we do not remember it.
Yes, and there can be many reasons. Sometimes it is from a past life. Sometimes it is connected to a family curse that began generations or even centuries ago.
What is interesting is that a family curse may have been triggered by another person, or by us ourselves in a previous life within that same family line. Then we return in this life to close and clear that karma.
Sometimes it is not even karma in the strict sense. Sometimes it is a challenge we chose before birth together with other souls, angels, and God. For example, maybe in one life I was too cowardly to fight for the love of my life. In this life, I may choose a harder situation so I can finally overcome that weakness and grow.
That is why these things require careful analysis. To understand them fully, one needs more than past-life regression. One also needs psychology, emotional therapy, and deep observation.
Yes, because if a person's logical mind keeps working all the time, they may not be able to access a past life at all.
Exactly. And sometimes karma appears in ways people do not expect. Imagine someone who went to war believing they were defending their country or religion. In that moment, they may have seemed noble or heroic. But if their actions caused great suffering, then in a later life they may experience the loss of many loved ones so they can feel the same pain they once caused.
That is not punishment from an external judge. It is simply the soul coming back into balance by experiencing the emotional weight of what it once created.
That is a powerful example. It explains why some people ask, "I did nothing wrong in this life, so why am I suffering?" Maybe the pain they are feeling now is pain they once caused in another life.
Is there any example from your clients that you could share with our viewers?
Yes. I can give one example that is not dramatic, but it still shows how karma works. I had a friend in Serbia who could never find the love of her life. She would meet men, there would be some liking, and then everything would stop.
When we explored a past life, we saw that she had lived in Austria as a noblewoman. She rejected every man who approached her. She would say, "This one is not good enough. This one is beneath me. This one does not have enough money." In the end, she remained unmarried.
In this life, she had to experience what it feels like to be rejected. She was not an evil person in that past life. She was simply arrogant and dismissive. Now she had to feel the emotional effect of that same energy.
Exactly. She did not do something horrible, but now she has to understand what it feels like not to be chosen.
I know a similar case. In one situation, a person had rejected many partners in another life. In this life, that person experienced repeated rejection before finally finding the right partner. It felt like a balancing of the same pattern.
Yes, and that is why we should understand that whatever we do to others returns to us. But still, the highest goal is not to behave well because we are afraid. Being good from fear is not the same as being good because goodness is your nature.
We are born with goodness. We are children of God. Doing evil is actually against our deeper nature. It is something human beings develop through society, fear, conditioning, and ego.
That is a very deep point. If people really understood how karma works, even in this life alone, I think they would change.
What advice would you give to our viewers about karma?
The answer is different for every person, because every life is connected to different karmas. Usually this life is linked to several past lives, not all of them. We may carry karma related to love, family, health, money, work, or property.
We cannot clear the karma of a hundred lives in one incarnation. Before birth, with other souls, angels, and God, we choose which karmic debts we want to address in this life. Those debts can be emotional, financial, relational, or spiritual.
Once we choose them, we begin recreating the necessary situations. Someone who was my husband in one life may return as my lover in this life and leave me, so that I can feel what he once felt. Another soul may return because I once helped them, and now they come back to teach me or help me through a difficult period.
In this way, we find teachers for both bitter moments and joyful ones. We need both. If life were only happiness, we would never understand its value.
Recently I had a client who was suicidal. I told her, "I can give you blessed water, prayers, and support, but I cannot make you swallow healing. You have to choose life yourself." I asked her to complete a sentence: "If I die now, how will my life become better?" She was shocked.
Then, step by step, we examined the thoughts behind her pain, and she saw there was no real logic in them. Nothing would be better. We are here to face obstacles and challenges, not just to sing happy songs. Sometimes the most beautiful songs come from sorrow, because they teach us how to overcome pain.
When one love story ends, another may open, but we must learn what to avoid in ourselves and in others. Sometimes both people are good, but they simply do not fit together. Silver is beautiful and gold is beautiful, but they do not always belong in the same setting.
That is true. Life is always a zigzag. It is never only sweet.
Exactly. If everything were sweet all the time, we would not grow. The movement between ease and difficulty is part of the soul's learning.
People who stay open to learning tend to live longer. People who believe they already know everything begin to close down. When a person stops learning, the mind starts shutting its windows, and life energy slowly decreases.
That is why some people retire and die very soon, while others retire and begin learning a language, taking up a sport, making new friends, or deepening old friendships. They continue living because they still feel a mission in life.
I have seen that too. Some people retire hoping to enjoy a lazy life, but instead they decline very quickly.
There is another word people often use: pattern. Why do patterns keep repeating in life?
Because a pattern repeats until you learn the lesson inside it. If one type of person is not good for you, but you do not understand that, then life sends another person with the same qualities. It may not be the same man or the same woman, but it will be the same lesson.
This continues until you understand what you need to change in yourself. Often the lesson is self-respect. Some people accepted being second place in their own lives in a previous incarnation, so in this life they keep attracting partners who again place them second.
In a relationship, there is person A and person B, but once the relationship begins there is also person C, which is the relationship itself. That relationship must become the highest priority.
When my son got married, he and his wife had their first serious conflict. My daughter-in-law said, "Now you will say your son is right." I told her, "No. The marriage is right. You both signed for the marriage, so the marriage is what matters." The real question is not who is right, but whether you want to protect the relationship.
Exactly. Before marriage there is "you" and "me." After marriage there must be "us."
Yes. If "us" is not the priority, then there is no real marriage, only two people officially connected. Ego becomes the problem.
Ego is one of our worst enemies, and it does not disappear when the soul moves from one life to another. The soul is eternal, but we also carry personality, preferences, and ego patterns with us.
Even when I connect with spirits, I still perceive the personality of the person. Deep inside, everybody carries love and goodness, but the material world teaches us to focus on status, being right, and having more than others. That often hides our true essence.
To be a good person is not always easy. Sometimes you must actively fight to keep your goodness alive. But goodness is still your deepest nature.
We also carry not only personal karma, but family karma, country karma, religious karma, racial karma, and the karma of the historical moment we are living in. These next twenty years will be very important for humanity. Human beings may either forget God more deeply, or return to God more strongly. Much depends on what we choose now.
That is very interesting. In India too, our scriptures speak about times when people forget God and later return again to spiritual truth.
Before we close, can you give our viewers one short line or one simple message that could really help them?
Yes. Whenever something hurts you, ask yourself: for how long will this hurt me?
If you cut your finger, it hurts a lot, but in ten days you forget it. If your heart breaks because someone left you, maybe it hurts for three years, maybe less, but even that passes. Everything belongs to a moment. The good passes, and the bad passes.
So enjoy the good moments and let go of bad moments quickly. These days I tell myself I no longer have the luxury of spending my life being angry or offended. I do not know whether I have four more hours or forty more years, so why waste time in anger?
If there is no anger, there is no fight. If there is no fight, there is less karma to create. Accept karma as you accept rain or snow. If it is cold, you wear more clothes. If it is hot, you wear less. Then you keep dancing through life.
Do good from your side and do not ask why. You do not need a reason to be a good person. You were already born good.
Yes, that should be our mantra. We were born good.
But many people say that when they keep being good, others take advantage of them again and again. Then they begin to feel, "Why should I stay good?"
Being good does not mean allowing everything. Love should be unconditional, but that does not mean you must allow harmful behavior into your life.
For example, if someone cheats on you, you do not have to remain in that relationship. You can still love the person in your heart, wish them well, and ask God to send you someone better suited to you. Love does not require revenge.
If someone cheats, it simply means they are not happy in that relationship. I do not understand when people say, "I made just one small mistake." If you were truly happy, you would not do it.
True. This has really been such a good session. It keeps making me think, and I have learned so many things today, as always.
I am very thankful that you shared your amazing knowledge with our viewers. I hope people take some learning from it and reflect on their own lives.
I would love it if the viewers gave us feedback or shared examples from their own lives. That would be very beautiful.
Yes, we would love to hear from our viewers in the comments and read about their life experiences. We will definitely try to reply.
Thank you very much for your time and your knowledge. I am truly grateful to you.
Thank you for inviting me. Have a beautiful day, and be the goodness you were born to be.
Thank you.
